Mayo businesses counting the huge costs of Storm Eowyn
Businesses across Mayo are counting the massive costs caused by the impact of Storm Eowyn.
The east Mayo towns of Swinford, Kiltimagh and Knock have been particularly badly impacted on by the prolonged power outages, leaving shops unable to open.
A similar situation has been experienced in Claremorris.
The commercial sectors in the towns of Castlebar, Ballina and Westport have been more or less operating as normal since the lifting of the Status Red warning on Friday afternoon.
However, they were impacted by the loss of broadband and issues relating to water supply.
There has been serious traffic congestion in Castlebar in recent days as a result of high numbers of shoppers converging on the town's supermarket.
