Joe Brolly joins top Mayo GAA club's coaching team
Former Derry footballer Joe Brolly has made a surprising move into club management in Mayo, joining Knockmore as a selector for the upcoming season.
The 1993 All-Ireland winner will take on the role of head coach under manager Ray Dempsey. He will also work alongside former Sligo player Dessie Sloyan, with Andrew Keane serving as a selector.
Dempsey, who previously managed Limerick at the senior level, is returning to Knockmore after a successful tenure that saw the club secure back-to-back county titles in 2020 and 2021. Dempsey was involved with Parke/Keelogues/Crimlin in the intermediate championship last season.
Back with his native Knockmore, he takes over from Aidan Kilcoyne and John Brogan, who jointly managed the team for the past two seasons before stepping down following their county final defeat to Ballina last October.
