Public information sessions on Mayo outdoor recreation plan

MAYO County Council and Mayo Sports Partnership are currently developing a county outdoor recreation plan for Mayo to ensure the sustainable development, management and promotion of outdoor recreation across Mayo in the future.

The core purpose of this high-level strategic plan is to support and enhance collaboration amongst key stakeholders, to develop a cohesive vision and shared roadmap to maximise the impact of future investment in outdoor recreation across the county.

Aligning to the Embracing Ireland’s Outdoors National Outdoor Recreation Strategy 2023-2027, priorities and actions for Mayo have been identified through extensive engagement and consultation with key local, regional and national organisations and agencies from across the public, private and community sectors.

These priorities have been presented to the County Outdoor Recreation Committee, however they would now like to invite members of the public to engage in this process, to learn more about the opportunities identified and open up discussion on potential projects and/or initiatives in their area.

Details on the public information sessions are:

* Ballina Community Sports Centre (in-person) on Wednesday, February 12, 7.30-8.30 p.m.
