Swift start for newly appointed Mayo football manager

Former Castlebar Celtic midfield star Fintan McHale has been appointed manager of the club's senior B team.

And it's straight into action for the garda officer as his side faces Glen Celtic tomorrow (Sunday) in the Connacht Shield at Glenamaddy.

Fintan is assisted in the role by Brian McNulty, Bobby Feeney and Adrian O'Brien, all former club players.

A squad of 31 players attended the squad's first training session last night.

The appointment was rubber-stamped at the club's annual general meeting where Padraig Cresham was selected to replace Joe McDonald as club chairman.
