Safe pair of hands appointed to lead top Mayo football club

Legendary Castlebar Celtic goalkeeper Padraig Cresham is the new chairman of Castlebar Celtic.

The club is assured of a safe pair of hands to oversee the club's affairs going forward.

He takes over from Joe McDonald who filled the position with distinction for the past number of years.

Marian Robinson has also stepped down as club secretary following loyal service.

However, both Joe and Marian are heading up a new development committee at Celtic Park as moves escalate to acquire the old swimming pool in the county town as dressing rooms for the club.

Noel Coll has returned to the committee to help with secretarial duties.
