Mayo greenway extension consultation call

CONSULTATION with land owners and residents on the next phase of the Achill greenway has been urged by local Councillor Paul McNamara.

He has requested clinics in Bunacurry NS for residents in Cashel and Bunacurry, noting how previously greenways were delivered by permissive access, working with the council, whereas now TII are involved and it's a 'totally different ball game'.

Some land owners have had contact with auctioneers.

He was urging the council to hold clinics where land owners can see the route, what is proposed, and where they can ask questions where they have problems. There is a fall-off of consultation in the centre and it needs to be filled, and Councillor McNamara proposed clinics over four weeks, two days a week.

His request will be relayed back to the council's tourism section.
