Urgent community call to save Mayo parade

NEWPORT'S St. Patrick's Day parade committee has issued an urgent community call - help save the 2025 St. Patrick’s Day parade in the town.

After years of successful parades, this year's Newport St. Patrick's Day parade is at risk of not happening due to lack of support and interest.

They need your help to keep this cherished event alive.

A meeting will take place on Thursday, February 6, at 8 p.m. in Walsh's Bar.

They are looking for fresh ideas and energy to make this year's parade a success. Everyone is welcome, and they'd especially love to see a representative from each local business in town to show your support.
