Progress on plan for property at foot of Mayo's holy mountain

A PROPOSAL for a vacant council-owned building at the foot of Croagh Patrick is in the pipeline.

The property is becoming 'an eyesore', Councillor Peter Flynn told a municipal meeting.

“We can't leave it any longer,” he said. It's sitting there and they needed to figure out what to do with it.

Municipal district head Seamus Ó Mongáin had good news for the meeting.

There has been developments on the building by the tourism section and he hoped they will have something to put forward to the elected members shortly.
