Mayo football club announces new manager

Kiltimagh Knock United has announced the appointment of Alan Gough from Galway as first team manager.

He takes over at the helm of the club's Super League team after James Costello and Paul Byrne stepped away at the end of last season.

Gough's playing career as a goalkeeper started at Portsmouth and then Fulham, with a move to Galway United in 1993.

The former Longford Town player-manager also enjoyed spells as a player with Bray Wanders, Derry City and Shelbourne, among others.

Gough made a number of international appearances for Ireland at Under 19 and Under 21 level back in the late '80s/early '90s.
