Sympathy on death of Mayo native Councillor Tony Waldron
ROSCOMMON Councillor Tony Waldron, who died at the weekend, was a native of Mayo.
Originally from Aghamore, he was remembered at yesterday's meeting of Mayo County Council, where sympathy was extended to his family on their loss.
Councillor Waldron, who lived in Ballintubber, Co. Roscommon, was formerly of Carrowneaden, Aghamore. He died on Sunday, peacefully, at his home.
In tributes, he has been described as a truly dedicated councillor and a friend to all. His commitment to his community, and region, was 'immense'.
He was a real gentleman who helped many people in his community.
He was predeceased by his parents Jim and Mary and his uncle Tony.
He is survived by his heartbroken family, siblings Mary, Breege, Sheila, Seamus, Padraic, Trish, Eamon and David, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandniece, his good friend Tommy Joe Finnegan, relatives, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
