€45,000 win on Mayo scratch card

A Mayo woman is celebrating a windfall of €45,000, which she won on a Fire 4s Ice 5s scratch card from the National Lottery.

She picked up her lucky ticket in Kavanagh’s SuperValu, Claremorris.

Speaking when collecting her winnings, she said: “I was doing my weekly grocery shopping, and that specific scratch card caught my eye – it was the first time I've ever purchased it.

“Even after the win, I bought another one that had a €25 prize on it!”

Although it’s taken some time from the shock of win to settle in, she’s planning to put her newfound fortunes towards a trip to Romania.
