Parent and baby spaces needed in Mayo county town's council car parks
PARENT and baby parking spaces are needed in Castlebar.
Councillor Donna Sheridan has again pressed council management about putting them in place in council-owned car parks.
It can be very difficult for parents getting children and buggies out of cars, she said, noting how you see these spaces in private car parks.
Councillor Sheridan has also raised an issue with the disabled parking space in the credit union car park near the former Mill Lane restaurant - it needs to be extended as a van with a wheelchair ramp currently needs to go out into the middle of the road, she said.
District head David Mellett said there is a plan to update parking bylaws in Castlebar and this can be looked at under that.
