No judicial review of east Mayo biogas decision
THE decision of An Bord Pleanála to refuse planning for a biogas facility in Swinford will not be the subject of a judicial review.
The Swinford Biogas Concern Group, representing local residents, confirmed the news on its social media this morning.
They reported: “We have received good news from An Bord Pleanála. Their Legal Department ‘confirm that the Board has not been notified of any JR (judicial review) in respect of ABP-317951-23'.”
The update added: “Now that the period for lodging a Judicial Review (JR) has expired, we can finally relax and celebrate our successful campaign against the proposed development by Moy Valley Biogas Ltd. in Swinford.
“We want to sincerely thank everyone who supported our intensive campaign over the past few years - those who protested, attended meetings, lodged objections, signed petitions, built floats and organised parades, donated money, researched topics and provided technical information, paid for banners, distributed newsletters, or spread the word far and wide through social media about the negative impacts of the proposed development.”
Plans for the multi-million euro agricultural biogas renewable energy plant on a hectare site at Lislackagh and Carrowbaun, just off the N5, were rejected by An Bord Pleanála last November.
