Mayo's Chris Cresham releases new single
RISING Mayo singer Chris Cresham has released his brand new single today.
The new release, ‘Colours’, is already attracting positive attention and was named Track of the Week by SPIN radio.
The Castlebar artist's career is moving at great pace, with the new single coming hot on his opening for superstar singer/songwriter Allie Sherlock before a crowd of 6,000 at the TF Royal Theatre, along with being selected as a ‘Hot For 2025’ rising artist by Hotpress Magazine.
Last year Chris was crowned wildcard winner in the 2024 A New Local Hero talent search and he also collaborated with Kingfishr. He also enjoyed a sold-out headline show in his home town at Garbo's, and received recognition from notable artists like JC Stewart and Brad Heidi.
Speaking about his new single, Chris said: “Colours is a folk/pop anthem about how tough I’ve found it to keep making music and believing in myself when I’m facing inner battles. Lyrics like 'It’s hard to paint any beauty when I’m tangled up in grief' reflect this.
“We used instruments like the mandolin and bouzouki to give the song a distinct folk feel.”
Praised by Pure M Magazine as "a force to be reckoned with in the music industry," Chris combines modern indie pop and folk with a unique style.
