Street in Mayo county town 'abandoned'

LUCAN Street in Castlebar has been forgotten about, says Councillor Blackie Gavin.

With recent power-washing in the town centre, this street seems to have been 'abandoned', he said.

Councillor Gavin has been crying out for issues with footpaths on Lucan Street to be addressed, but it just seems to have been forgotten about, he commented.

His hope is that something will be done this year, he told a municipal district meeting.

Councillor Cyril Burke said the power-washing scheme should rotate around the town to do different sections every year.
