Castlebar Racquetball Club juniors enjoy All-Ireland success

IT was a big weekend for junior racquetball in the county as Castlebar Racquetball Club hosted the 2025 All-Ireland Junior Even Championships with neighbouring club Ballinrobe Racquetball Club.

Thirteen Castlebar juniors competed across several age divisions in both girls and boys categories, with some taking part in the national competition for the first time.

The Castlebar club enjoyed great success with medals for Greta McCormack (Girls Under 10 champion), Lucy Murphy (Girls Under 12 champion), Tommy Murphy (Boys Under 10 Plate winner) and Aidan Forkan (Boys Under 16 Plate winner).

Special mention to Grace Campbell (Girls Under 10), Marcela Wisniewska (Girls Under 12) and Aidan Forkan (Boys Under 16), all competing for the first time in an RAI event. And well done also to the other Castlebar players - Luke Campbell, Naoise Cresham, Lochlainn Cresham, Patrick Murphy, Anna Murphy, Amy Maire DeLacy and Niamh Devanney.

The club gave special mention also to coaches Michael Haverty, Katie Kenny and Michelle McCormack and to all the members that came in to volunteer throughout the day - Aoibheann Hanrahan, Sarah Heneghan, Fiona Kyne, Joe Gibbons and Kevin Jennings.
