Death of valued member of Ashford Castle family in Mayo
The death of Alessandro Pasqua, Rathkelly Close, Creagh Road, Ballinrobe, formerly of Cosenza, Italy, is deeply mourned in the community.
The deceased was a very popular member of the staff at Ashford Castle for some years.
A statement by the bereaved family reads: "It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alessandro Pasqua, dearly loved by all his family and friends.
"We remember Alessandro for his spirt and kindness which left an incredible mark on the hearts of all who knew him.
"His life was example of love, courage and positivity. Alessandro showed us what it means to be a real man, a real father and a real friend.
"His energy and love will never end and will continue to smile in our hearts.
"Though his absence leaves an immense void, his memory will continue to inspire and give us strength each day.
"During this time when words fall short, his family’s wish is that his soul may find peace and serenity."
Among those to pay tribute to the deceased on social media were Niall Rochford of Ashford Castle who described Alessandro as a gentleman in every sense.
"He was a hugely valued and respected member of the Ashford Castle family and will be greatly missed," he added.
Alessandro will be sadly missed by his loving wife Rossana, sons Paolo, Andrea, Mattia, daughters Sandra, Federica, brother Stefano, sister Marina, sisters-in-law Lucia, Benedetta, Carolina, Rossella, brothers-in-law Piero, Antonello, Francesco, Eugenio, nephews, nieces, relatives and large circle of friends, to whom sympathy is tendered.
Reposing at Cummins Funeral Home, Ballinrobe, this evening (Monday) at 5.30 p.m. with removal at 6.30 p.m. to St. Mary’s Church, Ballinrobe.
Funeral Mass takes place on Tuesday at 11.30 am with burial afterwards in New Cemetery.
