Stormy conditions set to hit Mayo this weekend

Tomorrow will be more of the same but ahead of the weekend Alan O’Reilly has posted some worrying forecasts predicting stormy conditions.

Take a look below at what the weather has in store for the county.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain at first tomorrow.

Rain will clear northwards through the morning with sunny spells developing and southerly winds easing.

However, thicker cloud and showery outbreaks of rain will extend from the south west in the afternoon accompanied by fresh and gusty south or south east winds.

A few heavy falls are possible. Highest temperatures of 10 to 12 degrees.

Unsettled with frequent wet and breezy spells.

Mild for the time of year.

WEDNESDAY NIGHT

Showery outbreaks of rain at first, clearing north-eastwards early in the night as it becomes largely dry for a time.

However, further showery outbreaks of rain will move in from the south west later, extending across the country by morning as southerly winds increase fresh to strong and gusty by morning, reaching near gale force near southern and western coasts.

Temperatures will not fall below 7 to 11 degrees.

A worrying trend has been noted by online weather forecaster Alan O'Reilly on social media showing that there is a strong chance of strong winds starting Thursday with the worst on Sunday.
