Mayo golf club is 'not for sale'

A golf club in Mayo has issued a statement clarifying that it is not for sale.

It comes after an online listing appeared in recent days that the clubhouse building at Swinford Golf Club was up for sale, with a price tag of €80,000.

Swinford Golf Club Committee moved to reassure members and the community last night that it's business at normal, with no sale of the property proposed.

A statement published by the committee on the club's Facebook page outlined the following.

'Important Notice: Swinford Golf Club is NOT for Sale.

'It has come to our attention that a false listing has been posted online claiming that Swinford Golf Club is for sale. We want to assure our members, visitors, and the wider community that this information is entirely untrue.

'Our club remains fully operational, and we are actively addressing this matter. Our solicitors are already handling the situation, and we have the issue under control.

'We appreciate the support of our members and ask that you disregard any misleading information.

'Thank you for your continued support.'
