Excitement building for The Connaught Telegraph Mayo Young Sports Stars Awards

Excitement is building for The Connaught Telegraph Mayo Young Sports Stars Awards 2024, with the gala ceremony to be held in Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar, on Friday, March 7.

Members of the public responded strongly to our call for nominations for the awards, and some of the county's finest athletes will be honoured on the night.

Organised by The Connaught Telegraph, the Mayo Young Sports Stars Awards recognise younger athletes (aged under 23) who have become high achievers.

The awards were revived two years ago, when the 2022 winners were honoured in Breaffy House Resort, following a break for a couple of years brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic, and continued last year with the 2023 awards.

As is customary, we will once again recognise and acknowledge individual athletes, groups and teams in various categories on awards night (winners listed below), and we will present the Darragh Doherty Memorial Cup and Melissa Patterson Memorial Cup to the overall male and female sportspersons of the year, respectively.

Tickets for the gala event in Breaffy House Resort are available now. For details, contact Aiden Henry on (087) 6582141 or aiden.henry@con-telegraph.ie.
