Young Mayo man given place on Connacht bench for Harlequins friendly

Connacht head coach Pete Wilkins has named his side for a friendly against Harlequins at the Twickenham Stoop, and young Mayo man Fiachna Barrett has been included on the bench.

With 15 players away with the Ireland senior, A and Under 20 squads, the coaching team have still been able to select a strong squad of 26 featuring mostly pro squad members and a number of Academy players.

Paul Boyle captains the side from the number eight jersey for the game, which kicks off at 7.45 p.m. and will be streamed live on the Harlequins YouTube page.

The Connacht starting XV in full is: Shane Jennings, Finn Treacy, Byron Ralston, David Hawkshaw, Andrew Smith, Jack Carty, Matthew Devine; Denis Buckley, Adam McBurney, Temi Lasisi, Niall Murray, David O’Connor, Oisín Dowling, Oisín McCormack, Paul Boyle.

On the replacements' bench are: Dylan Tierney-Martin, Jordan Duggan, Fiachna Barrett, Joe Joyce, Conor Oliver, Colm Reilly, Seán Naughton, Shamus Hurley-Langton, John Devine, Piers O’Conor, Shane Mallon.
