‘Voices from Care, Ripples of Change’ Mayo exhibition launch

IN celebration of Care Day 2025, a special photography exhibition, ‘Voices from Care, Ripples of Change’, created by children and young people with care experience, is opening in Mayo.

The exhibition launch takes place in the Linenhall Arts Centre, Castlebar, this Tuesday morning from 11 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

The exhibition features contributions by care-experienced children and young people from Mayo ranging in age from 8 to 21 years of age.

The exhibition is a collaboration of young people working with Tusla, EPIC (Empowering People in Care) advocacy service and Foróige Connect to develop artworks and share their stories.

These newly developed pieces will be displayed in conjunction with EPIC’s Care Day ‘Embrace Your Stories’ exhibition.

The young photographers' images feature photos of things that matter to them, accompanied with messages.

A number of photos taken by children and young people in Mayo also feature in a national exhibition.

The Care Day 2025 theme celebrates the transformative power of hearing directly from those with care experience. Each voice from care carries a unique perspective, shedding light on both challenges and triumphs.

Care Day is a call to listen, learn, and amplify voices from foster care, as every story has the potential to create ripples of change.

The exhibition will be available to view in the Linenhall foyer until the end of March.

This year’s theme is a powerful reminder that every story matters and that change begins when we truly listen.
