Contemporary art fair is the first of its kind in Mayo town
Ballina Fringe Festival has announced the Ballina Contemporary Art Fair, taking place over the coming days at the Ballina Civic Office gallery, Arran Place.
The first of its kind in Ballina, this art fair presents a great opportunity for art lovers to purchase high-quality works by west of Ireland artists at accessible prices, all while supporting both artists and the festival itself.
A regular feature in the autumn event calendar, Ballina Fringe Festival returns in 2025 for its eighth year. The festival provides a showcase for local arts in addition to bringing high quality and far-reaching arts and events to Ballina for audiences to enjoy, including some of Ballina’s best loved street art pieces. The festival seeks to offer something for everyone, and many of its events are free.
Ballina Contemporary Art Fair serves as an important fundraiser for the festival, with every piece sold on a 50/50 split basis – meaning half of the sale price goes directly to the artist and the other half supports this year’s festival.
Over 80 art works ranging in price from €20 to €1,000 have been submitted for sale in an incredibly generous response from the local arts community. Discover unique contemporary art at affordable prices, support local artists and Ballina Fringe Festival – and in doing so, you might find the perfect piece to brighten up your home!
Ballina Contemporary Art Fair is open to all to attend. The opening takes place today (Thursday, February 27) at 7 p.m., with the fair opening again from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both tomorrow (Friday, February 28) and Saturday (March 1).
