Mayo takeaway serves 'best chicken burger in Ireland' and that's official

Danollas Restaurant and Takeaway, Castle Street, Castlebar, serves the best chicken burgers in the nation. . .and that's official.

The popular business achieved the distinction at the Irish Takeaway Awards.

Patjoe O'Connell, proprietor of Danollas, said they were thrilled with the achievement.

"It is recognition of our ongoing work to constantly improve and our determination to be the best in Ireland at what we do.

"A huge thank you to all out staff for their hard work in achieving this accolade."

Regional awards were also picked up at the event by three other Mayo takeaways.

Urban Gruel, Westport, was selected for three awards: Burger of the Year in Connaught, Fish Dish of the Year in Connaught and Best Newcomer of the Year in Connaught.

The Creel Deli, Westport, was voted Best Cafe of the Year in Connaught.

The Port Chipper, Newport, was highly commended in the Fish and Chips of the Year category.
