Mayo Young Sports Stars: Almost a veteran of national competition
Kyle Gleeson is almost a veteran of national competition by now having been competing for the last five years.
In that time he has won medals at indoor and outdoor championships in the long jump, becoming national champion in 2023 and just narrowly missing out on an Irish record.
The young St. Colman's South Mayo AC athlete also competes at national level in the 60m hurdles and has won medals at both indoor and outdoor championships in that event too.
In addition, Kyle has represented his county in the national Community Games finals, winning numerous medals – including double gold in 2024.
His achievements lead him to Breaffy House Resort, Castlebar, on Friday, March 7, to pick up a Connaught Telegraph Mayo Young Sports Stars Award.
Tickets for the gala event are on sale now. For more information, contact Aiden Henry on (087) 6582141 or aiden.henry@con-telegraph.ie.
