Designated return points needed for Lime Bikes in west Mayo town

DESIGNATED return locations are needed in Westport for Lime Bikes.

Local councillors are fans of the bikes but there are issues with them being left 'all over the place'.

The bikes should be brought back to a designated area, said Councillor Peter Flynn. And if not a charge should be imposed.

Speaking at a municipal meeting, he hailed the concept as 'fantastic' but said they needed to get on top of the haphazard situation and have designated areas so people can put them back. It needed a tidy up.

Agreeing, Councillor Johnny O'Malley said you see them left on footpaths where people then can't get by, especially someone in a wheelchair, and it needs to be addressed.
