Temporary repairs at Mayo bridge welcomed

A Tourmakeady bridge damaged in the recent storm is back accessible to local residents and farmers.

Temporary works have been carried out by Mayo County Council at Derrassa bridge, Derrendafderg, while a new culvert/pipe is in order.

Delivery and installation works are scheduled for March.

The temporary repairs to make the bridge accessible to locals were welcomed by Councillor Al McDonnell at a municipal meeting, who complimented council staff for their work.

The bridge was swept away after winter recent snow, storm and flooding, resulting in significant detours, especially for farmers tending livestock.
