Mayo tributes to 'beautiful lady' Patsy Halligan on her passing
The death has occurred of Patricia Halligan (née Maloney, better known as Patsy), 21 McHale Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Irishtown, Foxford and Birkenhead, Merseyside, U.K.
She died peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar, surrounded by her heartbroken family.
Patsy was mother of Cindy Guthrie (Castlebar), James Halligan (Birkenhead, U.K) and John Halligan (Castlebar).
She will be sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, son-in-law Stephen Guthrie, daughters-in-law Mandy and Daniela, grandchildren Gemma, Hayleigh, Aimee and Zoe, her great - grandchildren Cameron, Brooke, Kyle, Sophie and Leah and her great - great - grandson Jaxon, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.
Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family on their loss.
She was predeceased by her husband John (June 2004) and her parents John and Bridget (née O’Brien) Maloney.
Fond tributes are being paid to Patsy on social media.
"Patsy was a cherished member of our weekly Active Fitness classes at Claremorris Leisure Centre.
"Her warm smile and kind nature brightened every session, and she always made time for everyone. She will be deeply missed," one stated.
Another observed: "Patsy was such a beautiful lady inside and out."
Patsy will repose at her home, 21 McHale Road, Castlebar, on Wednesday from 5 to 6.30 p.m.
Removal from her home on Thursday at 12.30 p.m., arriving at the Church of the Holy Rosary, Castlebar, for Funeral Mass at 1.30 p.m.
Afterwards Patsy will be laid to rest with her husband John at the New Cemetery, Castlebar.
