Mayo teen singer songwriter is finalist in Today FM radio competition

Eighteen-year-old Joanne Gallagher from Killala is one of the finalist for radio station Today FM's Biggest Busker competition.

Mentored by Ian Dempsey and interviewed by him live on air for the past two mornings, Joanne is one of five finalists in the competition raising money to help fight homelessness across Ireland for Focus Ireland.

You may have seen and supported Joanne busking in her local town of Killalla or on the streets of Ballina, Westport, Swinford or Galway in recent years.

The young artist is an up-and-coming singer songwriter and has been performing and writing songs since the age 12.

She is a regular performer in local pubs doing covers as well as her own originals.

She performed to an audience of over 2,000 teenagers and adults in the TF Royal in Castlebar for Winter Foroige Amplified event.

She is a leaving certificate student at Gortnor Abbey, Crossmolina.
