Mayo communities mourn passing of 'gentleman' Jimmy Wall

The death has occurred of James Wall (better known as Jimmy), 19 Blackthorn Village, Turlough Road, Castlebar, and formerly of Kevin Barry Villas, Tralee, Co. Kerry, Parke, Castlebar, and Paddington, London.

He died peacefully at Mayo University Hospital, surrounded by his heartbroken family and friends.

He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken wife Maureen (formerly of Carrowkeel, Turlough), son Jimmy (UK), daughter Margaret (UK), daughter-in-law Tracey, son-in-law Peter, grandchildren Oliver, Millie, Paddy, Jamie, Jake, Luke and Kara, his great- grandson Edwin, his sister Kathleen, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and many friends.

Deepest sympathy is extended to the bereaved family.

Jimmy was predeceased by his parents James and Margaret (née Daly) and his brother Patrick and sister Margaret.

The deceased has been described in a social media tribute as 'a gentleman with a great sense of humour'.

Another tribute stated: "We will miss him coming to Kerry as he had done for many years. A cherished friend, we will miss you."

The funeral will arrive at the Church of the Holy Family, Parke, on Friday for prayers at 7 p.m.

Requiem Mass takes place on Saturday at 11 a.m., followed by Cremation Service in Shannon Crematorium at 3 p.m.
