Crossing and bus stop requests for Mayo county town

A pedestrian crossing and bus stop are needed at Moneen in Castlebar.

The volume of pedestrian and cycle traffic in the area has been highlighted by Councillor Cyril Burke, with people working in the N5 Business Park, Cedar House and Elverys, among others.

He has asked for a crossing to facilitate these people.

A bus stop to service the primary care centre in Moneen is on the wish list of Councillor Donna Sheridan.

Speaking at a municipal district meeting, she asked council management to write to Bus Éireann about this.

Councillor Sheridan wants to see a bus stop to cater for the many patients attending appointments at the centre on a daily basis.
