Extension approved for Mayo island school
THREE new classrooms have been approved for St. Columba's National School on Inishturk, Minister of State Alan Dillon has confirmed.
The Department of Education has approved an extension to include one mainstream classroom and two special education teaching rooms, granted under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme.
Said Minister Dillon: “I want to congratulate principal Anne McLoughlin and the board of management on this successful application, which will provide much needed accommodation for this school.
“I want to wish them the best of luck with this project going forward and have no doubt it will be a welcome addition to the school community on the island.”
