Saturday sport: Ireland lead 12-10 against Italy at half-time

Ireland lead Italy in Rome at the break 12-10.

If they want to retain the championship, they need to win in Rome and hope other results go their way.

Easterby has recalled Jack Crowley at fly-half with Sam Prendergast dropping to the bench among six changes.

Italy went ahead early on but two tries from Ireland put them in the lead at half-time.

In Cardiff, Wales take on England from a 4:45pm, whilst at 8pm clock France go in search of the title when they welcome Scotland to Paris.

 

Soccer

Republic of Ireland midfielder Ruesha Littlejohn is expected to make her Shamrock Rovers debut when they welcome Athlone Town to Tallaght Stadium at 5pm.

Rovers came from behind to beat Shelbourne in their opening SSE Airtricity Women's Premier Division game of the campaign last weekend.

Shels hope to get back to winning ways when they play Waterford at the RSC at 3pm, whilst at the same time, Bohemians host Galway United, and DLR Waves face Treaty United.

Cork City take on Sligo Rovers at 5pm in Turner's Cross, whilst the day's final game of the day sees Wexford play Peamount United at Ferrycarrig Park at 6pm.

In the Premier League, the race for European action heats up.

Fifth-placed Manchester City take on seventh-placed Brighton at the Etihad at 3pm both harbouring aspirations to qualify for next season's Champions League.

Elsewhere at the same time, Ipswich host Nottingham Forest, Everton take on West Ham and bottom side Southampton play Wolves.

At 5:30pm, Bournemouth look for their first win in 4 when they play Brentford at the Vitality.

 

GAA

Leitim have released a statement to say they will not be able to fulfil their game with Fermanagh in Division 3 football on Sunday.

There is currently an injury crisis in the camp and the teams under 20s play Galway in the Connacht championship midweek.

They have lost all 5 of their games in Division 3 so far this year and will be relegated to Division 4 next year.

On the pitch this evening, All-Ireland champions Armagh travel to Tralee to take on Kerry at 5:30pm in the Allianz National Football League Division One.

Dublin and Galway meet for the first time since the Tribesmen defeated the Dubs in last year's All-Ireland quarter-final in Croke Park at 7:30pm.

Kilkenny and Limerick meet at UPMC Nowlan Park for their re-fixed Allianz National Hurling Division 1-A clash.
