Appeal for witnesses after Mayo traffic collision last month

GARDAÍ in Mayo are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision which occurred in Ballina on Monday, February 24.

At approximately 4 p.m., a collision involving a vehicle and a pedestrian occurred on Barrett Street, close to the Tolan Street junction. There was a brief interaction between the driver and the pedestrian, after which both parties left the scene.

The pedestrian, a woman in her late teens, subsequently presented at Mayo University Hospital, Castlebar, to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries and the matter was since reported to An Garda Síochána.

The vehicle involved is believed to be a Mayo-registered blue Nissan Juke.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to come forward.

In particular, gardaí are appealing to the driver of the vehicle to make himself known to investigating gardaí.

Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam footage) and were travelling in the area between 3.45 and 4.15 p.m. on Monday, February 24, are asked to make this footage available to gardaí.
