Vancouver GAA club's fundraiser supports Mayo Roscommon Hospice

MAYO Roscommon Hospice was delighted to receive a donation of €1,610 from Vancouver Éire Óg from their ‘Solos for Santa’ fundraising event held in memory of John McLoughlin, from Derryronane, Swinford.

John was father of J.P. McLoughlin, Vancouver, who organised this event in his Dad's memory for Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

The cheque was presented to Martina Jennings, CEO of Mayo Roscommon Hospice, by Margaret McLoughlin, representing her son, JP, in Vancouver, and Carmel and Michael Costello, Belmullet, representing their son Paddy in Vancouver.

Missing from photo are Paula and Padraig Whyte, whose son Matthew took part in the event.

All are members of Vancouver Eire Éire Óg.

J.P’s cousin, Marc Ryan, and his Four Masters GAA Club, also participated in ‘Solos for Santa’.

A massive thank you to all who donated to this wonderful cause in memory of John.

J.P hopes to continue making ‘Solos for Santa’ an annual fundraising event in memory of his Dad, in Vancouver, Ireland, England, and across the globe, bringing GAA clubs and schools together to raise much needed funds for Mayo Roscommon Hospice.

“The hospice became our second home in 2023. The love and support shown to John and all the family cannot be measured.

“This is a small way of giving something back to hospice,” he said.
