Mayo group target fundraising milestone with musical production
Local musical production company Heroes for Hospice is set to smash an impressive fundraising milestone when they take their latest show to the stage of the TF Royal Theatre on April 16 next.
The Ballina-based group celebrated 10 years of fundraising musical productions last year with a spectacular show, One Day More, that enjoyed a sell-out four-night run in Ballina Arts Centre.
Now, due to unprecedented demand, the Heroes are taking One Day More to the county town of Castlebar for one night only at the TF Royal Theatre on Wednesday, April 16.
Musical director Lavinia Gilmartin noted that their musical productions have, since 2014, raised over €95,000 for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation.
The Heroes are now hoping that this final run of One Day More could take that total to over €100,000, with a second local cause, Mayo Cancer Support, being added as a beneficiary of the 10th anniversary production alongside Mayo Roscommon Hospice.
Past shows by the Heroes included Beyond The Barricade in 2014/15, Oliver With a Twist in 2017/18, and Superstar in 2022.
Along the way the group has also supported countless local festivals and represented their town and county with pride by performing at events locally as well as in Dublin and Manchester.
With One Day More, the voluntary group, which features more than 100 incredibly talented local performers of all ages, looks back to where it all began in 2014 with a mesmerising production.
One Day More is a celebration of human resilience told through an enthralling story of broken dreams, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice, and redemption. Set to a spectacular score featuring some of the best-loved classics of musical theatre, the production is a breath-taking showcase of local performing talent.
Locals are urged not to miss the last opportunity to catch this very special show and help it reach a fundraising milestone when it is staged in the TF Royal Theatre, Castlebar, on Wednesday, April 16, at 8 p.m. Tickets are on sale now online only via https://bit.ly/415Or0z, with all proceeds going to Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation and Mayo Cancer Support.
