Plans to commemorate 100th anniversary of Mayo laundry

PLANS are in the pipeline to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the former laundry in Swinford.

St. Anne's Laundry opened its doors in 1925 and was in operation for 50 years.

It is proposed to compile a history of the facility to include photos and a list of all who worked there from its inception until it closed in 1975.

If you have stories from your days working at the laundry or photos, send your information to Joe Mellett by email at joemellett1951@gmail.com or you can pop them into an envelope and leave it in Mellett's Pub.

The closing date for submissions is April 30.
