New bus stops in west Mayo town described as 'madness'

NEW bus stops have been installed in Newport, with their location described as 'madness'.

Councillor Brendan Mulroy has made representations about the matter.

In an update on his social media, he explained: “I have been in contact with the council and Bus Éireann regarding the bus stops that have popped up in Newport on George's Street.

“Absolute madness in my opinion.

“I will keep working on this issue until it is resolved.

“George's Street is just after being made safer for pedestrians and now this.

“Thanks to everyone who has contacted me on this matter.”
