Ireland U21 international Jack Moorhouse has been included in the 23-man Manchester United squad for their Europa League quarter-final against Lyon tonight.

It is undoubtedly the biggest game of the season for United, so the inclusion of the 19-year-old midfielder shows how highly he is rated by manager Ruben Amorim.

Indeeed, many sources at Old Trafford have indicated Moorhouse is in line to make his senior debut before the end of the season.

Moorhouse's had his first involvement in the first-team earlier this season when he was named on the bench for a Premier League clash against Tottenham.

Moorhouse usually features as an attacking midfielder for United's U21 side, and can also play on the left wing.

In 2021, Moorhouse made his debut for the club's U18 side when he was just 15. He made the jump to the U21 side this season, and has become a regular.

His best attribute is said to be his dribbling, with Daily Mail Manchester United correspondent Nathan Salt describing him as “the best carrier of the football in the academy” with his ability “not lost on Amorim and his staff”.

Born in England, he is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland, and was called into an Ireland U19s training camp in the summer of 2023.

Moorhouse received his first Republic of Ireland U21 call up in March 2025 for friendlies against Scotland U21 & Hungary U21 in Spain.

He made his debut for the side against Scotland U21 on March 21st, in a 2–0 defeat.
