Mayo College agri students celebrate awarding of Green Cert

A significant event celebrating the hard work and dedication of the part-time agricultural students from Mayo College of Further Education and Training was held in Westport Town Hall where students from the college graduated with their Green Certificate in Agriculture.

The group was honoured by the presence of John F. Concannon, CEO of JFC Group, who delivered the keynote address.

John Concannon, a distinguished leader in the agricultural sector, shared invaluable insights drawn from years of experience in the industry. Emphasising the importance of innovation, sustainability and adaptability, he inspired graduates to approach their future careers with enthusiasm and a commitment to continuous learning.

The graduation ceremony not only marked the academic achievements of the students but also emphasised the strong ties between educational institutions and local agricultural businesses. Such collaborations play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and practical industry applications, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to meet the evolving challenges of the agricultural sector.

As the graduates embark on their professional journeys, they carry forward the lessons and values imparted during their studies and reinforced by industry leaders like John Concannon. The support and guidance from local agricultural businesses continue to be instrumental in shaping the future of agriculture, fostering a community of professionals dedicated to advancing the sector.

The ceremony concluded with a reception, providing graduates, Mayo College of Further Education representatives, and agricultural representatives, an opportunity to network, share experiences and discuss future collaborations.
