Mayo girls book place in Under 15 Inter League final

THE Mayo Schoolboys/Girls and Youths AFL has another of its girls' squads through to a SFAI Inter League final.

Last week Westport was the venue for the Under 16 girls to lift the Inter League Cup while the same venue today saw the Mayo Under 15s also make it to an Inter League Cup final with a 3-1 victory over Kilkenny.

Mayo led 2-0 at the interval with the goals coming from a long range Grace Mulroy free-kick and Leja Kosmakova. Leja added another early in the second half and although the visitors pulled a goal back 10 minutes from time, Mayo ran out 3-1 winners.

Mayo now await the winners of the other semi-final featuring Clare and South Belfast for the final, which is scheduled for May 17/18.

This has been a wonderful achievement by this group of girls and their management team of Melissa Devaney and Amy Dunleavy.
