New Macra club launching in north Mayo

MAYO Macra is buzzing to announce the launch of a brand-new club in Ballina this May - and you’re invited to be part of it from the very beginning.

Whether you’re into farming, fitness, festivals or just looking to meet people and get more involved in your local community, Macra could be just the thing for you.

The launch night and information session takes place on Thursday, May 1, at 7 p.m. in Ballina Family Resource Centre, and it’s open to anyone aged 17 to 35 who's curious about what Macra has to offer.

Leading the launch is Macra’s northwest vice president, Claremorris man Rob Lally, who said: “Macra is a nationwide social network for young people from all walks of life - not just farming. We’ve got something for everyone: sports, public speaking, drama, volunteering, travel, festivals, and leadership opportunities too.

“It’s a brilliant way to build skills, have fun, and make lifelong friends.”

Macra training and development officer Siobhán Coyle added: “Macra helps make rural Ireland a more connected, exciting place to live. It’s a great way to meet people, get stuck into your community, and just enjoy life.”
