Top broadcaster Miriam boosts Mayo Roscommon Hospice fundraiser

The seventh annual Ladies Lunch fundraiser for Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation has taken place at The Lodge at Ashford Castle.

The sold-out event welcomed 200 women from Mayo, Roscommon and the surrounding areas.

Special guests included RTÉ broadcaster Miriam O’Callaghan and Professor Afif EL-Khuffash, neonatologist and paediatrician at the Rotunda Hospital in Dublin and host of The Baby Tribe podcast.

Also in attendance were Sarah Battle and Mandy Maher of Catwalk Model Agency, who hosted a fashion show featuring looks from local boutiques as well as from the local Mayo Roscommon Foundation hospice shops.

The afternoon began with a drinks reception overlooking Lough Corrib, followed by a three-course lunch at The Lodge, and a fashion show.

Miriam O’Callaghan later hosted a panel with Laura Coleman, Family Therapist at Mayo Roscommon Hospice Foundation, Professor Afif EL-Khuffash and Geraldine Keane, assistant director of Nursing Roscommon Hospice, who shared their experiences of the importance of palliative care services.

Entertainment on the day was provided by The Galway Tenors.
