Progress on energy master plans for two Mayo communities
PROGRESS on the creation of energy master plans for Ballyhaunis and Parke/Crimlin hass been welcomed.
Tenders are being sought to identify a qualified consultant to develop the plans for the Ballyhaunis Sustainable Energy Community (SEC) and Parke/Crimlin SEC.
Minister of State at the Department of Environment, Climate and Communications, Alan Dillon, said: “I am delighted that tenders are being sought for the development of an energy master plan for Ballyhaunis along with Parke and Crimlin.
“Once appointed, the consultant will work with these groups to carry out and report on energy efficiency, heating engineering services for buildings along with energy management services.
“Funding is provided by SEAI to undertake community energy master plans, which assist groups to design and develop their own plan in line with the aims of their community.”
The plans aims to quantify a community's current energy status, identify renewable energy sources, list potential projects for energy efficiency, set energy reduction targets, and document progress to support climate goals and improve residents' quality of life.
The plans will help Ballyhaunis, Parke and Crimlin achieve their climate goals and improve the quality of life for residents.
