Supermarket chain lodges appeal over Mayo store rejection
Supermarket chain Aldi has appealed the decision of Mayo County Council to refuse its application for a new store in Swinford.
The appeal has been submitted to An Bord Pleanála in respect of the proposal at Newpark in the east Mayo town.
The proposal was turned down by the council on the grounds that it would have an adverse impact on the 'vitality, viability and attractiveness' of the existing traditional town centre of Swinford.
