Elderly living in fear in Mayo as phone lines remain down

COMREG should answer questions about the 'shambolic' situation with continuing outages in the eir service in Mayo.

Elderly people are living in fear as they have no means of communication as phone lines remain down following winter storms, Councillor Adrian Forkan told a meeting of Mayo County Council.

“This is shambolic,” he declared, asking has eir got the capacity to fix the network and replace poles and wires.

Councillor Forkan told his elected colleagues it was time they called on ComReg to come into the chamber and answer some questions.
