Solar panels on Mayo homes not connected six years on

SOLAR panels on a number of council homes remain unconnected... six years after they were installed.

The issue with properties in Kilmeena was raised by Councillor Johnny O'Malley.

“They sitting on the roof for six years doing nothing,” he said. “It's not good enough.”

Councillor O'Malley said he has made contact but nothing has happened. He was given a commitment that it will be looked into.

Heathervale in Castlebar is another estate where panels still aren't connected, Councillor Ger Deere informed management, and he asked why this was so.
