Water supply disruptions hit west Mayo as pump repairs underway
Residents in parts of west Mayo are facing temporary water supply issues today as essential pump repair works are carried out in the area.
Local Fianna Fáil councillor Brendan Mulroy shared the update on social media this morning, alerting communities in Cushlough, Liscarney, Westport, and the surrounding regions of potential disruptions.
“Pump repair works may cause supply disruptions to Cushlough, Liscarney, Westport and surrounding areas,” Councillor Mulroy said. “Works are now scheduled to take place until 2 p.m. on April, 24.”
Uisce Éireann is overseeing the repair operation. Locals are being advised to allow an additional 3 to 4 hours after the stated completion time for full water supply restoration.
Councillor Mulroy also offered advice for those looking to stay informed on the situation. “Please take note of the following reference number and enter it into the search bar on the Uisce Éireann website should you wish to return for an update: MAY00092166,” he noted.
Residents are encouraged to conserve water where possible during the outage and to monitor official updates as the repair work progresses.
