Intersport Elverys team taking on 4 Peaks Challenge in aid of BUMBLEance
THIS weekend a group of dedicated volunteers from Intersport Elverys, including a number from Mayo, will embark on the company's inaugural Ireland 4 Peaks Challenge - a journey to summit four of Ireland’s highest peaks in just 36 hours.
The team will be taking on Slieve Donard (850m), Lugnaquilla (925m), Carrauntoohil (1038m) and Mweelrea (814m).
The team, which includes CEO Patrick Rowland, will face a physically demanding schedule, with minimal rest and little sleep, all while pushing themselves to complete the challenge.
The main goal of this ambitious challenge is to raise both awareness and funds for BUMBLEance, a charity that offers safe, comfortable and specialised transport for Ireland's youngest patients.
BUMBLEance ensures that children who need to travel between home and hospitals, hospices and national paediatric centres receive the best possible care, with their vehicles fully equipped with medical technology and child-friendly entertainment systems.
Berghaus have kindly gifted the group of volunteers all the essential equipment they require to take on the challenge.
The team includes a number of Castlebar-based members: Cathleen Fergus, Eithne Walsh, Rob O'Hara, Werner Adams, Clemon Wiggins, Patrick Rowland and Russell Woolmer.
