Man (30s) arrested after jewellery worth €50,000 stolen from Dublin shop

A man in his 30s has been arrested after a burglary at a jewellery store in the early hours of Friday morning in Dublin.
At approximately 2.45am, gardaí responded to reports of a burglary at a retail premises on Kildare Street in Dublin 2.
On arrival, they encountered a suspect and he fled the scene on foot.
The man was later seen entering St Stephen’s Green park.
He was apprehended by gardaí in the park and arrested.
The man is currently detained at a Garda station in Dublin in connection with the incident.
Gardaí then sealed off St Stephen’s Green park to search for the stolen jewellery in daylight.
At about 6am, officers recovered a bag of jewellery and its contents, estimated in value at €50,000.
Gardaí said investigations into the incident were ongoing.
